首先武术不仅仅是可以强身健体，还能锻炼人们的意志力。并且是可以实战的。武术不仅仅锻炼的是你身体的协调能力，还有柔韧，力量，爆发，以及你整个身体的力量调动都会练得到。它的好处就是你学完武术之后，你再去学其他任何的运动类的项目，你会学任何动作都会觉得很快，因为我本身就是一个武术的工作者，因为长时间练习武术的，自己的协调柔韧，力量爆发也都非常的到位，所以学任何的运动，比如网球，乒乓球，游泳，甚至是任何体育类的项目，对我来说都很简单。
其次武术的运动和其他项目的运动员的区别。总体来说，从本质上来分，他们没有什么区别，都是一种运动类的项目，但是武术的运动，他练得更多的是3个字就是精气神。所以练武人都有一身正气，又有一种侠客的精神。因为所有的项目都可以锻炼到人的意志，但是武术更为突出，他有一些对抗类的较量，在你坚持不了的时候，咬咬牙坚持就挺过来了，所以这就是武术和其他项目的不同的地方。
最后，武术是可以分为实战，套路，养生的。顾名思义，实战就是人与人之间的一个对抗，比如散打练的项目就是一个实战，还有太极中的推手，也是两人相互的一个实战。套路只是从实践一些实战的动作，把它编成了由动作和顺顺序组成的一些动作，最终我们称之为套路，起初也是由于武术的实战性的东西，把他变成了一个一和二和三加起来的东西，就变成了一个招式连在一起的动作，我们统称为套路。养生的东西无非就是有一些导引养生功法，比如八段锦，五禽戏，这些套路仅仅是养生的。用于养生的导引的方法和方式练习动作，促进身体机能的提高，从而达到一个强身健体的效果。
